First, THANK YOU for finally making it possible on a Mac to copy a MarvinSketch picture that has been pasted into Microsoft Word back into MarvinSketch for editing.
So I've been using this feature, and I noticed that when I italicized some text in a textbox in Marvin, that the italicization did not transfer into the picture that I pasted into Word. See the screen shot. I don't know whether the same problem occurs for other formatting such as superscripts and subscripts.
I also notice that when I set Marvin to monochrome display, the colors appear in the picture anyway when I paste it into Word.

I spoke too soon. In the previous post, I was editing a .doc document (Word 97-2004 format) with MS Word 2011 for Mac. The natural format for Word 2011 is .docx, so I saved the document in Word 2011 format. When I did so, the contents of all my MarvinSketch pictures became invisible, although the pictures were still clearly there. Furthermore, when I tried to paste new MarvinSketch pictures into the document, the pictures remained invisible. See side-by-sde screen shots of the .doc and .docx documents. ???

Dear Bob Grossman!
First of all: we are happy if you are happy :)
As for the problems: the colors reappearing after copy and losing formatting options are indeed a bug, thanks for reporting them. We will pick this story up in our reporting system.
As for the missing images I would like to know how did you copy those ? Are you transferring images with ole or copy as image ?
Best regards,
Tamas Fazekas-Vigh

I am using a Mac (OS 10.7.5), so there is no OLE. I simply highlight the structure in MarvinSketch, press command-C, click in the appropriate place in the MS Word document, and press command-V. It works fine when the Word document is in .doc format, but not when it is in .docx format.

Aha! I think it's a bug in Word. When I switch from normal view of the document to page layout view, the picture appears, and when I switch back to normal view, it disappears again. The space occupied by the picture is preserved, I just can't see the contents of the picture. Even in normal view mode, I can see the contents of the picture if I choose various picture editing options such as background and contrast. I doubt there's anything you can do to work around the problem, but maybe you can file a bug report with Microsoft.
