Hi,

I am trying to run MarvinSpace (as the View from the Node) and I'm getting some very odd execptions on the event queue:

Hi,

Thank you for your reporting.
Let me ask you a few questions.

What version of knime and JChem nodes do you use?
Is it possible that you open the MarvinSpace desktop application?

Thank you for your time and cooperation.

Best,
Taka

This issue is probably more specific to MarvinSpace than Knime.

Moved to the corresponding forum to involve the Marvin experts too.

Hi,

Infocom plugin is 2.6.3 which uses Marvin 5.11.3

Cheers

Hi,

This problem is specific to MarvinSpace <= 5.11.5, and environment with no direct hardware 3D support.

You should either upgrade to MarvinSpace 5.11.5 or have an environment that provides hardware accelerated 3D graphics.

Andras

Hi Andras,

Since we are using the Infocom KNIME plugins, I can't controll the marvin version. is there a way of controlling the use of Direct calls with the version we have got ?

Cheers

Hi,

I think the only solition is to upgrade the Marvin/JChem version.

This is an uniffical procedure, but it should work fine:

1. Download the 5.11.5 Jchem Zip (Cross platform package without installer) from here:

http://www.chemaxon.com/download/jchem/jchem-for-java/

Direct link:

http://www.chemaxon.com/download.php?d=/data/download/jchem/5.11.5/jchem-5.11.5.zip

2. Close KNIME, locate and rename the following directory:

<KNIME_HOME>\plugins\jp.co.infocom.cheminfo.jchemlib_5.11.3.0\lib

(e.g. reanme "lib" to "lib_bak")

3. Copy the lib directory from the JChem zip in place of the renamed directory

After starting KNIME, all JChem versions should reflect 5.11.5

Please let us know if it helps.

Best regards,

Szilard
