I am not able to uninstall Marvin Beans 64bit from my laptop.

Windows 7 Professional 64bit, Java 11 installed. (edited Java 7 update 11)

Error message:

No JVM could be found on your system.

Please define EXE4J_JAVA_HOME to point to an installed JDK or JRE.

Please let me know whether I should include an Environmental Variable for EXE4J_JAVA_HOME to current Java installation? I do not want to mess up with variables before confirming the same.

Hi!

It seems that the Marvinbeans uninstaller cannot find a valid 64 bit java JRE. I could produce an error with the same message but I had to either uninstall the 64-bit JRE completely or replace it with a 32 bit version. In these cases I got the same error. Marvinbeans 64 needs a 64 bit version of java (minimum JRE 6).

Please send me the contents of your “Path” variable (execute ‘echo %Path%’ in a command line window) and also the output of ‘java -version’.

And what do you mean by java 11? Java 7 update 11 64-bit, the most recent version?’

What is the version number of Marvinbeans that you are using?

Thank you,

  Akos

Dear Akos,

Here is the enivromental variable path....

C:\Program Files\ChemAxon\JChem\bin;C:\Program Files\ChemAxon\JChem\.\.install4j;c:\program files\chemaxon\jchem\jre\bin;

With reference to the above, should I reassign the Java path?

I had both Java 7 update 11 64-bit and 32bit. Due to incompatibility issue with a QSAR software, I uninstalled 64bit Java.

Marvin Beans version (64bit) 5.11 (the one to be uninstalled)

Thanks,

Giri

Dear Giri!

The uninstaller of Marvinbeans 64 also needs a valid JRE 64 bit installation. If you uninstalled Java 64 (for some other reason) then this is the problem here. You need to install it back to be able to remove Marvinbeans.

I tried to set my EXE4J_JAVA_HOME to point to a 32 bit Java version but it did not help. I also found another support forum entry with a similar problem. And there the problem was also with the installed Java.

So I suggest you install a 64 bit Java back, uninstall Marvinbeans, then you can uninstall 64 bit java again if you do not need it. It may sound weird but this is necessary.

Best regards,
