unable to resume installation

Hi,

after having installed Marvin Suite 5.11, Windows installer launches at every systemboot to resume JChem .NET API 5.11.5.628 installation, although it has been successfully installed prior to Marvin.

I tried deinstallation / installation of Marvin and JChem several times without effect.

Surprisingly JChem .NET API 5.11.5.628 appears two times in preferences/software.

Hope anyone can help to fix it.

Many thanks.

Martin

Dear Martin!

Please, tell me which exact version of the installer have you downloaded? Is your System or Java version 64 bit? We will investigate you issue, just need some more details.

Hi Balázs,

thanks for your help and fast reply.

Sorry for the missing informations. In general I use 32-bit versions. The exact version of Windows Installer is 4.5.6001.22159.

Despite these problems I'm able to use Marvin (including features like OLE) without recognizing any malfuction, even if I cancel "resume installation".

If it's helpful I can attach the installation-log file of JChem .NET API, created after reinstallation.

Dear Martin,

Under the MarvinBeans installation folder (Program Files x86/ChemAxon/MarvinBean by default) there should be an installdotnetapi.log file. Could you please send it to me? ([email protected]) It can contain important information about the install process of that JChem .NET API.

The JChem .NET API appears multiple times if multiple products are installed at the same time that include it. Unfortunately the Java installer cannot embed Windows installers coreclty, that is why we use separate msi installers. Despite of the fact that it appears multiple time, it installs the same thing, so that there is no extra space needed for it.

I am looking forward to the log file.

Best regards,

Could you please check the following registry entries:

HKCU\Software\Microsot\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\{16E2CFFB-51E4-4F9E-AEBF-B623651B118F}
HKCU\Software\Microsot\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\{B1CEA3AB-989E-41F1-A4A4-BB55B0290539}

Please delete them if they exist. This article can help you how to do this.

These are the product codes of our installers. Leaving them there can be a bug in the tool we use for creating installers.

Please let me know if it helps.

Thank you,

Dear Martin,

Are there any other entries under

HKCU\Software\Microsot\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\
HKCU\Software\Microsot\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce\

that is unknown for you?

Please also check

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce

entries.

Are there any GUID, like 16E2CFFB-51E4-4F9E-AEBF-B623651B118F?

Thank you,

Dear Vasko,

again none of the suggested entries exist. Although I really appreciate the work of chemaxon, I now decided to remove Marvin and JChem. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a powerful tool and you did great work, but at the moment I can't spend my time with software related problems. Anyway, I will keep marvin in mind for future use.
