Title: Electronic Notebooks – How ChemAxon tools enable the Chemically Intelligent Electronic Notebook

Abstract: The DAT-LAB electronic notebook is a replacement for a paper lab book, enhancing the traditional function by providing a computer-based data recording environment and indexing system.
DAT-LAB readily allows a researcher to find and access historical experiments for researching and reporting. DAT-LAB provides three vital functions:
· an electronic version of the lab book allowing input of all electronic data types
· an efficient report and data comparison tool
· a powerful and versatile search engine
These functions are brought together in a workbench environment providing an efficient, flexible and totally extensible tool to manage and help drive research and development.
In this presentation, Deffinity Solutions Ltd, developers of DAT-LAB, will show how have successfully used ChemAxon chemistry tools to provide the Electronic Notebook with full chemical intelligence, including structure and reaction drawing and full substructure search capabilities.
