JChem installation on linux with 64bit system java

Hi,

I would like to install JChem on 64bit linux using a system installation of oracle 64bit java. Is this possible? The available downloads either are bundled with a JRE or appear to require a 32bit system java.

The motivation is that I would like to make a central installation for a group of workstations / users and the bundled jre installs to the installation user's home which is not world readable even though the software itself is installed to a shared (NFS) directory.  All workstations can access an Oracle jave 1.8 jre installation.
