Installing Jchem for Office or Excel

Hello,

I've downloaded the trial license and the software for Jchem for office, and jchem for excel in a separate attempt, and run the installation program, however there is no evidence that anything has installed. No tabs in Excel, no plug ins available. I did get one error saying I had to install Office 2007, but that's very odd since this is a Windows 8 machine running Office 2013.

Any suggestions?

Ron

Hello Ron,

Are you sure that your MS Office and the JChem for Office you downloaded are both either 32-bit or 64-bit?

JChem for Office 32-bit needs MS Office 32-bit, and
JChem for Office 64-bit needs MS Office 64-bit.

Hi Gabor,

Thanks! I can't believe I made that error (downloading 64 bit instead of 32 bit) and didn't realize it. My machine is 64 bit so I assumed we had 64 bit Office, but we are running 32 bit office. Using the correct software fixed the problem, all is well.

Hi,

I tried to install JChem for MS Office in Windows 8.1, but I got an error message saying that I needed to have certain files for MS Office 2007. When I tried to install the recommended files, I got another error message saying that I would need to install MS Office 2007. I already have MS Office 2013 installed.

Will ChemAxon be updating JChem of MS Office so that it could be installed in Office 2013?

Thank you.

Best regards,

Rudy
