If I call importAsMol with a Molfile V3000, then the canvas is cleared, no structure is drawn and the function returns the same way than if the import had succeeded.
Would it be possible/worth it to change the function to provide some feedback on the imports (importAsMol and importAsMrv)?
Thanks,
David

Hi David,
We only can import molv2000 formats with importAsMol, however, the import recognize the molv3000 as an empty molecule. That is why you cannot see error message. I am creating a task about it in our issue tracking system, and we will display a proper error message from version6.3.
Thank you for reporting this issue.

Hi Efi,
I a somewhat related question so I will keep posting in here.
I tested pasting (CTRL-V) a V3000 Molfile in Marvin4JS 6.2 (https://marvin4js.chemaxon.com/marvin4js-latest/editorws.html) and it silently fails as well.
If the webservices are enabled, could you make CTRL-V handle V3000 Molfile and other formats by using the molconvert webservice?
Thanks,
David

Hi David,
This feature will be in 6.2.1 version. (Hopefully, end of next week.)

Dear Brenda,
from the current version of Marvin JS (6.2.1), which is available on our website (http://www.chemaxon.com/products/marvin/marvin-for-javascript/), if you try to import a Molfile V3000 with importAsMol, you will get an error message about the unsuccessful import (and the canvas content won't be cleared in this case).
I hope I could answer your question to your satisfaction
Best regards,
Dóra

Dear Brenda,
to add another remark concerning error messages at import: from our upcoming major release (version 6.3), it will be possible to get an error message programatically about the unsuccessful import of every file format.
Best regards,
Dóra
