AWT and Java 1.1. support

To users:

Do you think Marvin's new versions still need to support the AWT version of the applet?

- Mac OS 9 only supports Java 1.1 that is not compatible with the Swing version. Should we still support OS 9?

- Sun's newer Java versions (1.4+, 1.5+) need to be installed on Windows machines. IE's built in Java is Microsoft JRE 1.1

Java 1.1 and AWT compatibility is really a pain. We would be more productive without it. Opinions?

I don't think you need to support MacOS 9 anymore. You have bigger fish to fry.

that wasn't for any particular reason... "if something works don't touch it"

I completely support you if you decide to dump the AWT compatibility. We

have Sun's JRE as a standard component on all our office PCs. We have

different versions of the JRE, inclusive 1.5.0_03.
